Our priority is to contribute to the well-being of families, providing our students with a happy, healthy and safe lifestyle through food.
The first years of life are the most important. A stage to discover, explore, learn, in which our little ones live new experiences every day. From our nursery schools we want the time dedicated to food, its process and habits, to be part of the integral development of the child. We want to offer a safe diet, designed specifically for them and based on three basic pillars: EAT - LEARN - ENJOY.
To achieve this goal and after a complex process of evaluating options, our choice from the beginning was to have the collaboration of a professional catering service specialized in the children's sector with more than 20 years of experience in the sector.
With their participation and our constant supervision and control, we offer a food based on a daily hot line service, where the preparation of the menus is carried out by nutritionists specialized in child nutrition, the food is prepared on the same day it is going to be consumed and transported in isothermal containers where it is kept warm, without breaking the heat chain at any time. A meal in which we give special importance to the cooking process of our dishes based on homemade recipes and betting on the latest trends in food.
The secret recipe of our catering is to offer soft flavors, homogeneous textures, simple elaborations and striking colors. For the preparation of our dishes we choose the healthiest culinary techniques: baking, steaming and stewing of the best raw materials, with preference for fresh, local and seasonal products. The objective is to offer all the nutrients necessary for their correct growth, development and well-being through menus prepared by qualified nutritionists.
Did you know that...?
The production centers of our menus are located very close to our nursery schools, which allows us to offer a fast and high quality service.
Menus
In our schools, the menu is tailor-made for each student. Families, in turn, can contribute their proposals and thus, together, we manage to cover all the special needs of our children.
Thus, it is common for babies starting complementary feeding to begin with the "Baby Starter" menu. A menu based on vegetables, with a planned and progressive use of vegetables.
As they grow, the vegetables are accompanied by a type of protein (meat or fish), with chicken, veal, turkey, hake or monkfish being common, for example. At this age, we also encourage -after consulting your pediatrician- the transition to more varied, mashed or solid menus. It is important that, from a very early age, different textures and flavors are offered to the little ones, as this is the basis of good eating habits. All these decisions are made mutually between the family and the school.
Another of our objectives in this area and ages, is to achieve the autonomy of our students at feeding times. Working with them in the use of different utensils and getting them to eat independently is important in these stages. With the handling of cutlery, these routine moments become more attractive for our students, as they are autonomous and eat at their own pace. At the same time, our teams of educators work with them on the transition from the high chair or table in their classroom to the dining area. It is important to highlight how important it is that they all feel equal in their abilities and, until they are ready to go out to the dining room, they do not take the big step.
If we focus on the classrooms of our older students, the change is immense, as they must be fully adapted to a solid and varied diet. A good diet is essential for a good adaptation to changes, such as moving from the first to the second cycle of early childhood education, the ultimate goal for which they are prepared. For them, we have a whole course of challenges in which they must perfect eating in a group with autonomy, diligence and readiness, know how to share, be daring when tasting new foods or textures, etc.
It is also worth mentioning the latest trends in feeding included in our nursery schools in recent years. The most demanded is the famous BLW (Baby Led Weaning) method, which consists of feeding the baby combining solids with breastfeeding from 6 months of age, that is, offering solid foods and not mashed, at the time of the introduction of complementary feeding. In our schools, this is a fully integrated method available to families.
On the other hand, we reaffirm our availability of a wide variety of special menus for allergens. In recent years, we have seen how more and more children are diagnosed at an early age with intolerances and/or allergies to different foods. Our teaching team together with the nutritionists of our catering team are prepared to face and offer families the menus that their children need.
Keep in mind that these are children in the process of development that require a particularly varied and balanced diet with very specific energy needs and that, in addition, they may be reluctant to some food groups. If, in addition, the little ones have some kind of intolerance and/or allergy to certain products, the preparation of the menus must be carried out with greater dedication and care and, in our nursery schools, we are fully aware of this.
Currently, the main intolerances that are usually detected are lactose and gluten. In the case of allergies, the main foods most frequently involved in allergic reactions are cow's milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, legumes (lentils, peas, soybeans, chickpeas, beans, broad beans), cereals, fresh fruits (strawberries, peaches, apricots, ...) and nuts.
For all these cases we have their corresponding adaptations, in the same way that we offer to all our families menus respectful of their religious convictions.
